Ahead of ‘The Neighborhood’ Finale, What Happened to the Spinoffs?
The CBS series ends after eight seasons as Crutch continues on Paramount+ and the planned Marty and Malcolm spinoff was canceled before filming.
CBS sitcom The Neighborhood concludes its 8-season run with a series finale on May 11, featuring weddings for Marty Butler to Courtney and Malcolm Butler to Mercedes.
Initially, producers intended to launch two spinoffs from The Neighborhood, though only one reached production as the franchise aimed to expand its footprint.
Before any filming occurred, the planned spinoff Malcolm Take Venice Beach, which would have followed the Butler brothers living independently in Venice Beach, California, was canceled in April 2025.
Meanwhile, Paramount series Crutch, focusing on Francois Crutch Crutchfield, remains in limbo following its November debut. Star Tracy Morgan expressed hopes for a second season without official network confirmation.
As the series concludes, the final episode captures significant milestones including weddings for Calvin Butler and Tina's sons, alongside emotional farewells for the characters anchoring the long-running comedy.
