- The company's new safeguards include two-hour daily time limits, blocking teen access between midnight and 6 a.m., and disabling cosmetic filters alongside hiding reaction counts and eliminating push notifications during school hours.
- Although the company operates Facebook and Instagram, it stated these changes will not be enacted in Canada; Sharma noted families shouldn't wait for pending Canadian lawsuits to be resolved.
- Sharma argued that the United States changes "demonstrate that stronger safeguards for children and youth are both possible and necessary," calling for age-related content restrictions and verification features for Canadian children.
