InterCement Deal 'Once In a Lifetime Opportunity,' Mindlin Says
(Bloomberg) — A deal spearheaded by Argentine energy mogul Marcelo Mindlin to restructure one of Brazil’s top cement producers was a unique chance to gain exposure to two of Latin America’s biggest economies, he said in a Bloomberg TV interview.
An investment group led by Marcelo Mindlin entered as the main shareholder the holding InterCement in Brazil, owner of the main Argentine cement company. It did so after a debt restructuring process.
The group that controls the cement plant changed its composition through a capitalization of credits and appointed the Argentine businessman Marcelo Midlin as president. In addition, a capital increase of US$500 million was approved to relaunch the company.
