Pilip Akilov won a bronze medal in the 80kg weight class at the World Boxing Championships in Liverpool. The Ukrainian-born athlete, who became a naturalized citizen in 2022, faced Yojerlin César in Saturday's semi-final, and the 21-year-old Frenchman won by unanimous decision to advance to the final.
