A topping-out ceremony was held for Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center’s new 11-story acute care tower in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Expected to open in 2028, the project team includes FCA and Turner Construction. The tower will improve the patient experience by transitioning the hospital to all private patient rooms while significantly increasing clinical capacity. Key project features also include an expanded emergency department with 22 additional treatment areas, including three new trauma bays, dedicated space for behavioral health patients and six hybrid-capable operating rooms alongside 24 new ICU beds.
