Actor Dev Sharma, who now plays Lord Ram in 'Mahakavya Shri Ramayan Katha', has opened up about being turned down for the role of Lakshman in both 'Adipurush' and Nitesh Tiwari's 'Ramayana'. As per mid-day, Sharma revealed that height and physique differences with the actors playing Ram cost him both roles, a rejection he initially took as a sign his connection to the epic wasn't meant to be, before eventually landing his current part.

Dev Sharma said he lost Lakshman roles in Adipurush and Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana because of his height. He said the setbacks left him disheartened before he was cast as Lord Ram in Mahakavya Shri Ramayan Katha.
