Academics call on minister to get Palestinian students out of Gaza
A group of academics and activists is urging the Canadian government to assist Palestinian students in Gaza who cannot file biometric data to come to Canada, as reported by the Palestinian Students and Scholars at Risk Network.
There are about 130 students in Gaza facing challenges to leave, according to the Palestinian Students and Scholars at Risk Network.
Immigration Minister Lena Diab stated that international students must follow the same processes regardless of their country and highlighted the need for collaboration for evacuations.
Additionally, around 30 Palestinian students in Egypt have been waiting over 18 months for visa approvals, as mentioned by the Palestinian Students and Scholars at Risk Network.
