- President Bola Tinubu approved five new Army battalions to strengthen security across Kwara State, reinforced by establishment of the 9 Division Nigerian Army to address regional threats.
- General Officer Commanding 9 Division Nigerian Army Major General Yakubu Yahaya and Brigadier General Nicholas Rume attended the ceremony, while military teams prepared a new battalion base in Patigi.
- Governor AbdulRazaq commended President Tinubu for increasing soldier welfare packages and salaries, while pledging state government cooperation to help the new formations settle and commence operations.
- The existing brigade will relocate to Bode Saadu as part of broader military expansion aimed at reducing banditry and kidnapping across vulnerable parts of Kwara State.
