‘High Potential’ Stars React to Midseason Move & Explain Why It’s Worth the Wait
ABC is holding its top-rated drama for midseason after it posted the biggest Season 1-to-2 increase for a network drama since Glee in 2010.
On Tuesday, May 12, 2026, ABC announced its fall 2026 schedule, moving its top-rated drama High Potential to the midseason instead of fall.
Scheduling executive Ari Goldman noted the shift aims to provide an "uninterrupted run" for High Potential in early 2027, avoiding the choppy broadcast breaks of previous seasons.
The network will place R.J. Decker in the Tuesday 10 p.m. slot, while Scrubs and Abbott Elementary will lead Wednesday nights this fall.
For the first time in six years, ABC will exclude the Bachelor franchise from fall, opting instead to premiere new seasons in 2027.
Returning in early 2027, High Potential will join a first quarter packed with major events including the Super Bowl, College Football Playoff, Grammy Awards, and Oscars.
