ABC Article On Trump’s Sons’ Pentagon-Linked Investments Removed After It Was Published ‘Prematurely’
ABC later said the article contained errors about investment amounts, ownership claims and the timing of events.
ABC News deleted a report criticizing the business dealings of President Donald Trump's sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, on Thursday after facing legal threats.
The since-deleted report claimed venture capital firm 1789 Capital, where Donald Trump Jr. is a partner, claimed a major stake in Anduril Industries from a $2.5 billion investment in June 2025.
Alexa Henning, spokeswoman for 1789 Capital, disputed the report late Wednesday, stating the firm does not have a 'major stake' in Anduril and that companies receive government contracts regardless of political administration.
Donald Trump Jr. wrote that "ABC deleted this article in less than 24 hours because its false," while the network provided no public correction or explanation for the removal.
A DOD official stated that "outside affiliations, investors, or political connections play absolutely no role" in funding decisions, noting Anduril has held contracts dating back to 2019.
