- Criticizing the move on Tuesday, lawyer Camille Labchuk argued Marineland chose to "wash its hands" of responsibility, expressing frustration that receiving facilities face the "heart-wrenching task" of keeping the animals alive.
- NOAA Fisheries spokesperson John Chu noted the aquarium must submit necropsy reports within 30 days, while the Shedd stated it will conduct examinations into the deaths and share results once confirmed.
