On February 28, 2026, Mr. Sacharin Srisen, Director of the Office of Protected Area Management Region 6 (Songkhla), revealed that he had received a report of a tapir, a rare protected wild animal under the Wildlife Conservation and Protection Act B.E. 2545 (1997).
