The last session of the Gietrzwałd commune council (Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship) regarding the adoption of the general plan ended in a heated argument. Several dozen people from outside the village, calling themselves "defenders of Gietrzwałd," showed up to block the plan's adoption at the site of religious worship. This sparked considerable outrage among the village's residents.
