A peace of paper

A FREO peace activist jetted to Japan with 1000 origami cranes last weekend to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima.  Nuclear Free WA co-convenor KA Garlick took the peace cranes to the Children’s Peace Monument in Hiroshima for the anniversary on August 6.  The cranes are in honour of Japanese girl Sadako Sasaki, who folded 1000 of her own cranes while fighting radiation-induced leukaemia after the 1945 bombi…
