A New Era Begins: Cal Poly Unveils the John Madden Football Center
The 37,690-square-foot facility gives Mustang Football a modern headquarters for training, recovery and team development, supporters said.
- On Saturday, Cal Poly celebrated the opening of the $45 million John Madden Football Center in San Luis Obispo, providing Mustang Football with a modern headquarters for training, recovery, and program operations.
- Developed with the Madden family and donors, the 29,000-square-foot facility was designed by Populous and constructed by Hensel Phelps to replace outdated athletic infrastructure.
- Visitors enter through the O'Neill Family Legends Lobby overlooking Mustang Memorial Plaza. Mike Madden said, "My dad stood for two things: preparation and excellence."
- Head Coach Tim Skipper called it "game-changing for our program," noting student-athletes now have a facility designed to develop them as players, students, and leaders.
