At around 1:50 p.m. on the 13th, a tour employee called 118 to report that a man had become unconscious after snorkeling off the coast of Sakieda, Ishigaki City. The man, a 66-year-old from Aichi Prefecture, was transported to a hospital in the city and was pronounced dead shortly afterward.
