The project could create 2,500 construction jobs and deliver up to $425 million in net benefits, regulators said.

Regulators say the project, in its early stages and slated for completion in the early 2030s, could reap about $400 million in benefits for Mainers' electricity bills and stimulate $2.4 billion in economic activity.
