The EU flag was installed alongside the Ukrainian flag on Friday, after Ukraine's application to join the EU was accepted by the European Council.

The president of the European Commission spoke to parliament and guaranteed Europe's support. The President of Ukraine, on the other hand, said that the country's entry into the EU “should not take years or decades”.
