  • The Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority said investigations began under international safety regulations to determine circumstances and probable cause, while police said more information would be provided and Kilimanjaro Aviation company has not commented.
  • Aircraft accidents on Mount Kilimanjaro are rare, with the last incident in November 2008 when four people died; the mountain is nearly 6,000 meters tall and draws around 50,000 tourists annually.
