Pro-Palestine Radicals Admit to Burning Down McDonald's Franchise

A group of pro-Palestinian radicals have claimed credit for a fire that consumed a McDonald's restaurant building in France this week.

The gendarmerie opened an investigation after the partial destruction of the restaurant under construction during the night of Monday to Tuesday.

A restaurant on the chain, still under construction, was set on fire in Montrabé on the night of Monday to Tuesday, 7 April. An unknown group claimed the act by a statement sent to several media "in support of the Palestinian people".

The organization claims to have acted in Montrabé "in support of the Palestinian people, and against the new strategy of expansion of the firm".

"The Unsuspecting Friars burned the McDonalds under construction in Montrabé, in support of the Palestinian people, and against the new strategy of expansion of the firm" according to the AFP.

A violent fire destroyed the future McDonald's restaurant in Montrabé, near Toulouse, on Tuesday 8 April. In recent months, the opening of the fast food sign caused intense tensions. Local residents and parents of students were concerned about its installation near a college. The act was quickly claimed.
