At around 2:20 p.m. on the 18th, a man nearby called 119 to report that a woman was drowning in the sea near a hotel in Miyakojima City, Okinawa Prefecture. The woman, a 59-year-old from Tokyo, was transported to a hospital in the city in an unconscious state and was pronounced dead at around 6:15 a.m. on the 19th.
