A 19-year-old woman killed in tractor trailer collision in Thunder Bay, Ontario

A 19-year-old woman died Tuesday following a collision between her passenger vehicle and a tractor-trailer in Thunder Bay, Ontario, at Mapleward Road and Highway 11/17 around 12:30 p.m.
Ontario Provincial Police described the collision as serious and closed a section of Highway 11/17 for several hours to conduct their investigation. The road has since reopened.
Traffic was blocked in both directions from Highway 61 and the Harbour Expressway to Twin City Crossroad, with Ontario Provincial Police advising motorists to use Highway 130 and Highway 102.
Police have not released the woman's name or disclosed details about what led to the collision. Authorities are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage to contact them.
