- After receiving tips about militant presence, forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Dera Ismail Khan district, targeting terrorists described as 'khawarij' who were active in attacks, the ISPR said.
- In Bannu, another intelligence-based operation neutralised five khawarij, recovered weapons and ammunition, and sanitisation operations were underway to clear the area.
- The Pakistan Foreign Office summoned Kabul's deputy head of mission and issued a demarche on December 19, stating it reserves the right to defend its sovereignty and respond to terrorism from Afghan soil.
- Islamabad accuses the Afghan Taliban regime of facilitating militants, as Pakistan reports a sharp rise in attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan since 2021, including week-long October clashes.
