A surprise inspection at Palitana Government Hospital found the approved underground water tank missing despite a ₹50.43 lakh bill being submitted. The finding has led to action against two engineers, a police complaint and moves to blacklist the contractor.
A case of fraud has come to light at the Palitana Government Hospital in Gujarat. A bill for ₹50.43 lakh was submitted for approval without even constructing an underground water tank with a capacity of 2.55 lakh liters. Health Minister Praful Pansaria, taking cognizance of the seriousness of the matter, ordered an investigation and suspended two engineers.

State Health Minister Praful Pansheriya, during his recent visit to Palitana Hospital, took serious note of the entire matter when it was noticed that the underground water tank of 2.55 lakh liter capacity approved for the hospital was not at the site.
