The 49ers Open the Practice Window for WR Christian Kirk
Ogbo Okoronkwo adds defensive-line depth as Christian Kirk begins his return from injured reserve and Eugene Asante joins the practice squad.
On Thursday, the San Francisco 49ers promoted defensive lineman Ogbo Okoronkwo to the 53-man roster and opened receiver Christian Kirk's 21-day practice window as he returns from injured reserve.
Following the NFL's one-game suspension of starting linebacker Dre Greenlaw, who was ejected during the October 11 victory over the Seattle Seahawks, the team adjusted its roster depth.
Kirk, a ninth-year veteran with 432 career catches, has been sidelined since training camp with a calf injury but practiced Thursday for the first time in weeks.
Linebacker Eugene Asante was signed to the practice squad to provide defensive depth while Greenlaw serves his suspension and the 49ers manage multiple injuries across their roster.
San Francisco enters Monday's game against the Washington Commanders with a 5-0 record, though the team navigates injuries to key contributors including Deebo Samuel and other receivers.
