"Reality is catching up with us," the French prime minister warned the opposition, referring to the continuous increase in France's borrowing rates on international financial markets.
The ten-year interest rates at which France refinances its market debt exceeded the 4.8% threshold on Tuesday, for the first time since 2008.
On Tuesday, "France borrowed from almost 4.8% to 10 years, compared to 3.5% a year ago," said the Prime Minister on social network X, stressing that it was a level never seen since the 2008 financial crisis.
