MERCED, California.- One person died last Monday afternoon after the car in which he was traveling lost control and was submerged in Bear Creek. The incident occurred around 4:50 pm, when agents from the CHP Merced area office came to South Bear Creek, east of Piedmont Drive, and observed a vehicle completely submerged in the stream.
