4 Calgary friends share historic $90M Lotto Max win
The four friends will each receive $22.5 million after matching all the numbers in their first lottery entry together.
On Oct. 20, four Calgary friends—Eidelson Elchico, Lovelyn Malvar, Hazeline Omg, and Velna Ramirez—won a record-breaking $90 million Lotto Max jackpot, marking the largest prize in Canadian history.
This record-breaking payout follows Lotto Max's decision to raise its maximum jackpot from $80 million to $90 million six months earlier, surpassing the previous record of $80.4 million split by two Ontario residents in December 2025.
The group, friends for five years, purchased their ticket online and named their group chat 'Manifesting Millions'. Elchico discovered the win via email and alerted the others, who initially struggled to believe the news.
Matching numbers 08, 15, 19, 23, 26, 28, and 34 with bonus 38 secured the win. Each friend receives $22.5 million from the equal split of the $90 million prize.
Responsible play messaging reminds individuals that all forms of gambling involve risk, with outcomes based on chance. Regulators reinforce these warnings to ensure players maintain safe habits despite excitement surrounding record-breaking prizes.
