The "3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS)" technology, developed by Tohoku University's Joint Research Center for Future Science and Technology (NICHe) and Tohoku University spin-off venture XMAT, which automatically generates high-resolution 3D models from images captured by 360° cameras and drones, has been registered with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's New Technology Information System (NETIS).
