Shooting at Carson Street Takeover Leaves 1 Dead, 6 Wounded
Authorities said one man died and two people were hospitalized after gunfire erupted during an illegal street takeover.
On Sunday, June 28, 2026, around 3 a.m., a shooting during an illegal street takeover in Carson left one person dead and others wounded, authorities said.
Deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department responded to the intersection of Charles Willard Street and Harmon Avenue, where a street takeover was underway when gunfire erupted.
Evidence indicates at least 20 shots were fired by at least two separate shooters, and paramedics pronounced 22-year-old Patrick Bell dead at the scene.
Emergency personnel transported two victims to a local hospital in critical condition, while four additional victims self-transported to area facilities with non-life-threatening injuries.
