Twenty-eight people at a stadium in Kyoto were taken to hospital after eating boxed lunches on Saturday afternoon in a suspected case of food poisoning, first responders and other sources said.
[Yomiuri Shimbun] At around 4:35 p.m. on the 12th, a 119 call was made from a sports official at Takebishi Stadium Kyoto, an athletics stadium in Ukyo Ward, Kyoto City, reporting that "several people are experiencing symptoms of diarrhea and vomiting." According to the Kyoto City Fire Department, 28 men and women aged 10 to 70 are suffering from the illness.
