Pflege-Qualitätssicherungsgesetz – Hamburg, Berlin 21.06.2001 – On 21 June 2001, the German Bundestag decided on the so-called Pflege-Qualitätssicherungsgesetz (PQsG) in response to sensational nursing scandals in German old and nursing homes. The aim of the new regulation was to ensure and improve the quality of care throughout Germany – through regular checks, binding standards and a legally anchored quality transparency.
