2026 General Election in Pennsylvania: Here's What to Know
Voters can check ballots, deadlines and sample ballots as the race for governor, legislative control and 17 congressional districts heads to Election Day.
On Tuesday, November 3, 2026, Pennsylvania voters will head to the polls to decide federal, state, and local races, including the entire state House and half of the state Senate.
Although the registration deadline has passed, voters who previously requested mail-in ballots must ensure their county election office receives them by 8 p.m. on Election Day to be counted.
Polls will open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day, with anyone in line by 8 p.m. permitted to vote according to state election officials.
Democratic Governor Josh Shapiro faces Republican state treasurer Stacy Garrity and Libertarian Ken Krawchuk in the gubernatorial race, with each candidate running alongside a lieutenant governor pick.
Control of the Pennsylvania General Assembly remains at stake, with Republicans holding an edge in the state Senate and Democrats maintaining a slim majority in the state House.
