2026 Election Results: Minnesota Governor
MinnPost is tracking results in races for governor, attorney general, secretary of state, auditor and the Legislature as voters decide control of key offices.
On November 3, 2026, Minnesota voters will decide high-stakes races for Governor and U.S. Senate, with DFL candidate Amy Klobuchar facing Republican Lisa Demuth for Governor and Gov. Peggy Flanagan competing against Republican Michele Tafoya for the Senate seat vacated by DFL Sen. Tina Smith.
All 67 seats in the Minnesota Senate are on the ballot, where DFLers currently hold a 34 to 33 majority over Republicans. Control of the chamber requires 34 seats, making legislative balance the central stakes.
Across the state, all eight U.S. House seats appear on the November 3, 2026 ballot, with the 2nd District remaining open after DFL Rep. Angie Craig ran for U.S. Senate instead of seeking reelection.
Constitutional officer races include Two-term DFL Attorney General Keith Ellison facing Republican Ron Schutz for Minnesota Attorney General, and Secretary of State Steve Simon competing against Republican Tad Jude on the same ballot.
Nonpartisan races for the Minnesota Supreme Court feature Associate Justices Sarah Hennesy and Paul Thissen , each running unopposed for their respective seats on the November 3, 2026 ballot.
