2026 Denza B5, B8 Prices: BYD's Luxury Brand Offers Lexus Rivals for Toyota Money
Denza launches two large plug-in hybrid SUVs with luxury features and competitive pricing, attracting nearly 5,000 expressions of interest, with deliveries starting January 2026.
- Denza, BYD's premium brand, has opened orders in Australia for two large plug-in hybrid off-road SUVs, the B5 and B8, with the B8 available now as a distinct large off-road SUV.
- Targeting both mass-market and luxury buyers, Denza's B5 starts at $74,990 b and B8 at $91,000 b, undercutting the Toyota LandCruiser 300 Series, which in entry-level GX trim starts at $98,340 b.
- Technically, both B5 and B8 feature turbocharged plug-in hybrid powertrains with 31.8kWh and 36.8kWh LFP batteries, 400kW and 425kW outputs, plus 3500kg towing, four-wheel drive and DiSus-P suspension.
- Demand is strong, the company says it has almost 5000 expressions of interest and the first 2000 customers will receive a $1,818 upgrade.
- To support the launch, Denza plans a House of Denza aftersales offering with concierge pickup, BYD warranty coverage, shared parts warehouse, and B8 awaiting ANCAP and Euro NCAP assessment.
