2 Sisters Die in Fire at Bellingham, Massachusetts Home
Two women were pulled from the home and later died, officials said, as the State Fire Marshal’s Office investigates the cause.
On Monday, June 15, 2026, two sisters died after a fire tore through a single-family home on Temi Road in Bellingham, Massachusetts. Crews responded around 12:40 a.m. to the blaze.
Bellingham Fire Department Chief Bill Miller reported that first arriving units found 'heavy fire through the roof and the rear of the structure' with two people trapped inside. Rescuers pulled both victims from the home.
Crews battled the two-alarm fire for 40 minutes before controlling it. Miller noted the blaze 'had been burning for a while' before the initial 911 calls, suggesting early discovery may have prevented greater tragedy.
State Fire Marshal's Office is assisting local officials with the investigation. Authorities have not identified the victims; Miller confirmed a cat also perished in the fire.
Investigators are examining the scene to determine if working smoke detectors were present. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will establish the official cause and manner of death.
