2 Iowa National Guard soldiers are back in US after being wounded in ISIS attack
Two Iowa National Guard soldiers wounded in a Dec. 13 ISIS attack in Syria returned to the US and are recovering in stable condition at a military medical facility.

- On Dec. 19, the U.S. military launched airstrikes against dozens of Islamic State targets in Syria, and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said the operation targeted `ISIS fighters, infrastructure, and weapons sites`.
- Maj. Gen. Stephen Osborn said, `Caring for our impacted families and the safe return of our service members is our highest priority`, as Iowa leaders honored the fallen on Dec. 17 at Dover Air Force Base.
