Boyfriend of ‘SNL’ Writer’s Missing Sister Among Two Arrested on Suspicion of Murder
Investigators say the pair allegedly killed Downer, disposed of her body and concealed the crime as her disappearance remained under review.
- On Thursday, the Los Angeles Police Department arrested Delorean Bijon Brandon and Kaylee Nicole Markowski for the murder of Christina Downer, sister of 'Saturday Night Live' writer Jimmy Fowlie, with both suspects held on $2 million bail.
- Following her disappearance in December 2025, when Brandon claimed she had moved out, the LAPD launched a homicide investigation; Fowlie later announced in April that the family was informed Downer was 'no longer alive.'
- Detectives with the LAPD's Robbery-Homicide Division assumed the case after Downer's cellphone washed ashore on Santa Monica Beach, later conducting searches in Joshua Tree using K-9 units to find evidence regarding her disappearance.
- According to Fowlie, Downer's phone and social media were compromised, with the individuals allegedly using it to 'hide the fact she was gone' and 'create a false narrative that she was going off the grid.'
- Brandon and Markowski were arrested in Highland Park and Tarzana and are currently held at the Metropolitan Detention Center; detectives plan to present the case to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office for filing consideration.
