A 56-year-old businessman from Portugal has been sentenced to nearly 20 years in prison for poisoning his partner with a lethal mixture of white wine and battery acid. The jury in Aveiro found the man guilty of murder. The 43-year-old woman died in May 2022 from severe internal burns after consuming the poisoned drink.
