19-year-old woman took a note to the monument – Russia punished severely

Russia is punishing its citizens for insulting the honor of the armed forces. A St. Petersburg court has handed down a harsh sentence to 19-year-old Darya Kozyreva for insulting the honor of the Russian army. Independent Russian media outlet Mediazona reports that Kozyreva, a medical student, was sentenced to two years and eight months in prison last week in a Petrograd district court. The prosecutor had demanded a six-year sentence.
