17-year-old twins, father found dead in suspected murder-suicide, Orange County deputies say

Investigators say the father killed his 17-year-old twins before dying by suicide, and the Orange County Sheriff's Office has not released a motive.

  • On Wednesday, Orange County, Fla. deputies discovered 17-year twins Carlo Montiel Infantino and Melanie Montiel Infantino dead at a home in the 1200 block of Courtney Chase Circle during a well-being check.
  • Investigators believe their father, Ivan Montiel Roa, killed both teens before killing himself in what authorities are calling an apparent murder-suicide.
  • Both teens suffered multiple stab wounds in the living room, while Ivan was found dead in the master bedroom. "At this time, detectives believe Ivan murdered Carlo and Melanie and then committed suicide," the Orange County Sheriff's Office said.
  • The family's gated apartment complex sits off Orange Blossom Trail; representatives turned away visitors at the main gate while a dozen press vehicles lined the street.
  • Officials did not specify when the deaths occurred or how Ivan died, leaving key details under investigation. Detectives have released no further information since the Oct. 2 announcement.
