10-Year-Old Killed, 6 Others Injured in Hamilton Crash

HAMILTON, ONTARIO, CANADA, JUL 7 – The GMC Sierra driver’s high-speed attempt to pass caused a head-on crash killing a 10-year-old and injuring six others, police said.

  • On July 6, 2025, around 9:30 p.m., a southbound GMC Sierra crossed the center line near Trinity Church Road in Hamilton and collided head-on with a northbound Honda Civic, involving a third vehicle.
  • Preliminary reports indicate the GMC Sierra was traveling at a high speed while attempting to pass another vehicle, which caused it to enter the northbound lane and trigger the collision.
  • The collision pushed the Honda Civic into the route of a Ford Explorer traveling northbound, resulting in a second crash that injured all four people in the Civic as well as three occupants of the GMC Sierra.
  • A 10-year-old passenger in the Honda Civic was taken to the hospital and later died; among the other occupants, one is in critical condition, another is seriously ill, and no charges have been filed.
  • Hamilton Police’s Collision Reconstruction Unit leads the ongoing investigation, roads were closed for several hours, and officials are asking witnesses with dashcam footage to contact them.
