- Knowledge gaps about grains leave room for nutrient shortfalls as 31% admit little understanding of grain-based foods, 17% know grains supply B vitamins, 15% identify grains for energy, and 34% view carbohydrates as unhealthy.
- Erin Ball, Executive Director, Grain Foods Foundation urged balanced use of whole and refined grains to boost fiber and B vitamins, noting pizza is the top favored grain food at 52%.
