Timbo, Rural Special Schools aim for independence

Two rural schools in Stone County are moving to break away from the Mountain View School District. Little Rock television station KATV reports the Timbo and Rural Special schools took action after learning the Mountain View district was considering closing at least one of their campuses. Jerome “Jerry” William Lord, 90, of Timbo, Arkansas, passed away April 24, 2025. He was born on August 22, 1934, in Chicago, Illinois, to Clyde R. Lord and Roselee (Crispe) Lord. Jerry graduated from Timbo High School in 1953. Shortly after graduation, he began his career within the US Military.
