Original hand-compiled data containing budget information on 264 major cities in the United States. We find no evidence that BLM protests led to police defunding. In cities with large Republican vote shares, protest is associated with significant increases in police budgets.See the Story

SciencePrevious research has suggested the ketogenic diet and ketone supplements (KS) as potential therapies for alcohol use disorder. To our knowledge, no studies have examined the effects of KS on alcohol sensitivity. In humans, the intake of KS before alcohol significantly blunted breath alcohol concentration and BAL, reduced ratings of alcohol liking and wanting more, and increased disliking for alcohol.See the Story
