Mauritius · MauritiusA road accident occurred last night, on the Route des Pamplemousses in Sainte-Croix, involving a van and a motorcycle. The van, driven by a 29-year-old man, hit the motorcycle driven by a 17-year-old teenager, accompanied by a 14-year-old passenger. The two young people were injured and taken to Dr Jeetoo Hospital, where the passenger was admitted for care, his condition being considered stable. An investigation is under way.See the Story

Theft · MauritiusThe Criminal Investigation Division (CID) intercepted a car on March 31 in the city of EDC Caroline. The driver, suspected of stealing several TV sets worth Rs 500,000 in a hotel under renovation, was arrested. On board the vehicle, the investigators discovered three 70-inch television sets. He confessed the theft and gave the names of two accomplices. Searches found other TV sets and fans stolen from the hotel. The three suspects were detained.See the Story
