Brandon Twp. — Cell phone use prompting distracted driving continues to plague Michigan roads, despite stiffer laws and enforcement.

Atlas — Heavy tropical rain from Hurricane Beryl soaked southeastern Michigan from late Tuesday night through Wednesday according to the National Weather Service. Goodrich — On Monday night the Goodrich Village Council voted 4-1 to postpone a vote on a proposed heavy truck route ordinance around the village until October 2024. Council member Sherry Ann Moore voted no.

Goodrich — At 8:49 a.m., July 8 the Atlas Township Fire Department was dispatched for trash in a garbage truck on fire in the 7000 block of S. State Road in Goodrich.
Upon their arrival the garbage truck had emptied its contents in a business parking lot to keep the truck from catching on fire.
