YPSILANTI, MI - The Ypsilanti City Council passed a resolution to establish a city-run unarmed crisis response program. The city has come under fire recently for its handling of its homeless population and a 30-hour police barricade against a man experiencing a mental health crisis. Residents called for more unarmed response and mental health support after that incident, which led to the City Council introducing the proposal.
