HD Hyundai Wins 1.46 Billion USD Order for Eight Ultra-Large Container Ships
- HD Hyundai has won a contract with HMM to build eight container ships, valued at $1.4 billion, marking its largest order since 2007.
- The new ships will feature dual-fuel engines with a fuel tank 50 percent larger than the latest model and an autonomous navigation system developed by Avikus.
- Deliveries of the ships are scheduled for completion by the first half of 2029, with two ships built by HD Hyundai Heavy Industries and six by HD Hyundai Samho.
