Wuchang: Fallen Feathers Sequel Officially Announced with Original Creator’s New Studio Developing It

Xia Siyuan’s new Chengdu studio has signed a development and publishing deal, and the original game drew more than 5 million players in its first year.

  • On Wednesday, 505 Games announced a partnership with original creator Xia Siyuan and his new studio, Chengdu Indolphinity, to develop a sequel to Wuchang: Fallen Feathers with a €21.5 million investment.
  • The original game, released July 24, 2025, reached more than 5 million players, but developer Leenzee shuttered earlier this year after Xia departed and the team rejected a shift to outsourcing work.
  • Digital Bros, parent company of 505 Games, acquired the Wuchang intellectual property in April 2026; the sequel is currently in preparation phase with no official title or release date announced yet.
  • Fans criticized the Patch 1.5 update for altering bosses and NPCs, with the first game facing significant backlash over handling of Ming and Qing Dynasty history and narrative tone changes.
  • Xia said his team takes "player and community feedback seriously while remaining committed to our original vision," striving to deliver "higher quality and a more complete experience" in response to fans.
